Information about Bonded Marble, Cast marble, cast stone statue and Cast Art

Bonded (cast) Carrara marble items are made by mixing crushed Carrara (a marble found in Italy) with a bonding agents and pouring into a mold. The items produced are bright white, but are generally not as smooth as carved marble and do not have a grain.  As bonded marble ages, it will acquire a slight golden-brown hue or patina, just as carved marble would.  Additionally, like carved marble, bonded marble can be polished to a gloss with a buffing wax such as clear carnauba. Proof of authenticity can be provided  if requested of all  items made in Borgo San Giacomo Italy.
